Professional Biography

I have over twenty-five years’ experience in teaching and research at four universities: University of Cape Coast, University of Ghana, Ashesi University and Linkoping University (Sweden). My last position in academia was Vice President, Data Link University. I served on a number of national and international boards and committees, including the African Virtual University, the West African Examinations Council, the Statistics Panel of the National Accreditation Board and the National Open University Planning Committee. I also worked briefly in the financial sector and electronic media, where I acted as Chief Executive Officer, TV3 Network.

Teaching Statement

Mathematics and (to an extent) statistics courses are seen by many students as abstract subjects; this needs not be so. With a little bit of tact, all can be made to enjoy the subjects. My approach therefore is to guide students to discover the facts through class discussions and case studies. I always encourage students to participate actively in class.
