Semester Programmes

Mentorship Programme

The mentorship program is a first year program that pairs freshmen with social and academic mentors to help them adjust to Ghana and life at Ashesi. These mentors become facilitators for discussion groups on various cultural topics and have a duty to guide mentees to take full advantage of resources and facilitate exposure to Ghanaian culture. Mentors are chosen each year from upper level classes through a rigorous application and selection process. (Visit the ODIP to learn more about applying.)

International Experience Open House

The International Experience Open House event is a day-long fair to exhibit and share international experiences and opportunities students have been involved in throughout the year. The event is organised to give a chance to the entire Ashesi community to share in on each other’s experiences and encourage the student body to be more active in finding and participating in international programs.

Students Crossing Borders

Students Crossing Borders is a weekly cross-cultural discussion group in the Spring Semester that discusses issues of diversity, ranging from religion to music & dance to dangers of ethnocentrism. These discussions are meant to enable students learn more, respect and become more aware of the other cultures on campus in order to foster unity. Upon participation, students become ambassadors to the rest of the community to promote issues of diversity and internationalism. Participants have the opportunity to plan fun activities together for the semester, and engage in several activities on campus aimed at raising cultural awareness and celebrating our rich and diverse Ashesi community.
