Goldman Sachs selects four Ashesi students for 2015 spring internships in London

For the tenth year running, global investment banking giant Goldman Sachs has selected a team of Ashesi students to join its Spring 2015 internship programme in London. The two-week programme allows exceptional students around the world to immerse themselves in a dynamic, diverse and creative learning environment, and gain insight on careers in the global financial industry.

The students, Reshma Mawji ’17, Nana Yaw Akonnor ’16, Sedem Banini ’16 and Akosua Dei-Anang ’15, will join the Operations, Securities, Investment Banking and Investment Management divisions respectively.

“I am extremely excited about this internship,” said Sedem Banini. “To be invited to explore the world of investment banking is a great learning opportunity, and I hope to absorb all I can.”

The four students will be flown to London to participate in a series of learning activities that will include presentations to Goldman Sachs leadership, conferences, team assignments and other opportunities to foster their professional growth.

“This internship program is proof of Ashesi’s educational model,” said Reshma Mawji ‘17. “The firm selects the best and I am thrilled to have such an empowering opportunity.”

Goldman Sachs is a global investment-banking firm, and offers diverse financial services to a wide client base. Candidates who apply to the firm are evaluated on the core measures of leadership, analytical thinking, teamwork, commercial focus, achievement and the ability to make an impact.

Goldman Sachs has been recruiting interns from Ashesi since 2006, and in 2014 hired Ashesi alum Daniel Ankomah ’14 to join its team in London as a Technology Analyst.
