Citation for Matthew Taggart
Matthew Taggart joined Ashesi University Foundation in 2000 as the third member of the Ashesi team. He played a crucial role in our fundraising efforts; helping to raise funds for Ashesi University’s permanent campus in Berekuso, and helping to secure a thirteen (13) million dollar partnership with the MasterCard Foundation.
Matt, you have always exhibited a deep sense of professionalism and have made major contributions to the education of our students: raising the funds needed to make Ashesi possible, co-teaching Leadership Seminar I, and serving on the Executive Team of the University. It has been a real privilege to have worked with you through the years. I will always remember the good times, when we successfully raised the funds needed to turn our dream into reality –those moments of high-fiving each other – as well as the difficult times when our fundraising efforts were not as successful. It has taken persistence, grit and a real sense of adventure to achieve our dreams.
