Ashesi is happy to welcome Pearl Esua-Mensah as the new Chairperson of our Board of Directors. Pearl takes over from Charles Cofie, who served as Chairperson from 2015 to 2017, and will continue to serve as a member of the Board. Pearl joined the University Board in 2014, and prior to being named Chairperson, served as head of the Board’s Finance Committee.

She has over 20 years of management experience in Banking and Finance, and also has experience leading and consulting for businesses across multiple sectors in globally. She is currently the Group CEO of Media General — a media and communications company that owns and operates TV3, 3FM, Onua FM, Connect FM, Akoma FM and MG Digital Ltd.

Until her appointment as Group CEO of Media General, she was the CEO of Feniks Ltd, a business consulting firm she founded to support the growth of medium sized and small businesses. She has served as Deputy Managing Director of UT Bank, Director of Finance and Administration at UT Financial Service Limited, Group Financial Accountant, Parity Group Plc and Group Reporting Accountant, Kantar Group. In 2014, she was named the Finance Personality of the Year at the National Women in Finance Awards.

She is a Founding and Executive Council member of the Executive Women Network — a non-profit organisation committed to providing a platform for women to achieve their professional goals, to be influential and to fully realise their potential.

Pearl is an ACCA fellow (FCCA), with an MBA in Finance from Manchester Business School (UK), and a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Ghana.
