Mr. Daniel Torvinyo is a member of Ashesi’s Business Administration Faculty and teaches courses in Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Investments and Corporate Finance. He holds a BSc in Business Administration and an MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana, Legon. While studying for his MBA, Daniel traveled to the United States to participate in a research programme for a year at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating from the University of Ghana he worked for several years in Ghana's financial sector. Mr. Torvinyo started as an adjunct lecturer in August 2004, and became a full time lecturer at Ashesi in January 2006.

As a lecturer, Mr. Torvinyo has a passion for teaching and enjoys providing challenging academic work to help bring out the best in his students. When asked what has impressed him most about Ashesi, he conveys the precocious desire of students to achieve excellence, and creativity. Mr. Torvinyo’s goal is to train his students to be adept in their chosen career path. He admires the students who are not just focused on academics, but also apply themselves to the practical aspects of their coursework such as participating in internships and service learning projects. Mr. Torvinyo believes Dr Patrick Awuah’s vision of creating a world class University in Ghana “ is the missing link in Africa’s education.”
