As Ashesi continues to deepen its relationships with its affiliate institutions, the university hosted the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and the UCC Inter-Faculty Committee for Institutional Affiliation. The panel from UCC visited Ashesi to discuss the affiliation partnership and to deepen collaboration between the two universities, with conversations also focusing on processes necessary in helping Ashesi achieve a charter of independence.

The meeting again provided a lot of insight into gaps that existed in the relationship between the two universities, and was the first time that the current Vice-Chancellor of UCC was visiting campus. Ashesi's Business Administration, Computer Science and Management Information Systems are accredited through UCC, which has been very supportive of the work towards building a strong liberal arts programme in Ghana.

"We are grateful for the panel's visit," said Ashesi President Dr. Patrick Awuah. "I look forward to further expanding our collaboration efforts with the University of Cape Coast, and hope that we can continue to make progress in helping Ashesi become a stronger institution.
