Google Ghana is a two-day annual event that brings together hundreds of technology entrepreneurs, developers, students and teachers, journalists and business professionals. The conference, dubbed G-Ghana, provides a platform for Google to present its products to a thriving tech community and gain insights from it. A major part of the conference has been the Web Programming Competition, which requires participants to build applications based on technology introduced at the event.

Ashesi Computer Science junior Frank Anamuah-Kofie won this year’s contest, which required participants to build an airline ticketing application using HTML 5 IndexedDB databases that would be capable of running online and offline. For his prize, Frank took home a Samsung Galaxy Y Android Smartphone. Congratulations Frank!
