A team of representatives from Texas Instruments, a global leader in analog technology, visited Ashesi’s campus as part of a trip to Ghana to interact with select universities in the country. Members of the team included the Senior Vice President of Texas Instruments, Arthur L. George, and Dr. Edgar Sanchez-Sinencio, a Texas Instruments J. Kilby Chair Professor of Engineering at the University of Texas, A & M.

The Texas Instruments team met with members of Ashesi’s Computer Science and Management Information Systems programs and had discussions with them about their final year projects. In addition, students got the opportunity to learn about the skills and qualities needed to pursue a successful career with international companies like Texas Instruments.

Ashesi’s President Dr. Patrick Awuah, expressed gratitude to the team for visiting Ashesi’s campus and for donating two MSP-EXP4302 Launchpad Experimenter Boards from Texas Instruments to Ashesi University. The Launchpad is a complete USB-based tool for testing and developing embedded systems applications. The Texas Instruments representatives also promised to support student projects which focused on embedded systems with more resources.

Earlier this year, Texas Instruments donated development kits to Ashesi at a seminar organized jointly by the company and National Instruments.
