Meeting Ghana's President

A group of 5 Ashesi representatives met with Ghana's new president, Mr. John A. Kufuor, during a recent trip to Accra. President Kufuor had been introduced to the university project by Ashesi trustee Yaw Asare-Aboagye earlier this year and had expressed an interest in learning more about this project. Ashesi's President Patrick Awuah, Vice President Nina Marini and trustees Yaw Asare-Aboagye, David Leonard and Patrick Nutor paid President Kufuor a visit at his residence to speak about Ashesi's vision and progress. President Kufuor showed great enthusiasm for the project, noting he was encouraged to see Ghanaians with good credentials taking on such an ambitious endeavor. He was especially excited to see Ghanaians abroad becoming re-engaged in Ghana's economy, and he encouraged us to maintain our pioneering spirit.
