December 18, 2016 - To close out the year, Ashesi’s staff and faculty converged at Accra’s Golden Tulip Hotel for the end-of-year celebration. The event presents staff and faculty an opportunity to look back and celebrate the year.

“The end-of-year celebration helps people to take a break and just celebrate,” said Aba Kaadze Enyimayew, Associate Director, Human Resources. “In my line of work, I’ve realized that some of the people who work the hardest tend to forget to celebrate their successes and people here do fall into the bracket. So at the end of the year, we do need to celebrate ourselves and the work we have done.”

As part of the dinner, several long-serving staff were recognized for their work at Ashesi.

Gertrude Ayorkor Korsah (Engineering), Dr. Charles Jackson (Engineering), Dr. Sena Afi Agyepong (Business Administration), Emmanuel Obeng Ntow (Academic Affairs), Nii Akai Nettey (Finance), Abigail Welbeck (Career Services), Rosemary Naa Adei Kotei (International Programs), Ebenezer Gwumah Buckman (Development and External Relations) and *Raymond Agbesi (Logistics and Facilities) were recognized for five years of service at Ashesi.

Members of staff and faculty who have worked at Ashesi for ten years included Aelaf Dafla (Engineering), Mavis Asiedua Jamena (Admissions), David Mokas Hiamatu (Logistics and Facilities), Eleanora Anku-Tsede (Academic Affairs) and Rose Akudugu (Finance).

“Ten years is a journey,” said Eleanora Anku-Tsede, who has been with Ashesi four years after the institution opened. “Joining Ashesi, more or less at its inception, growing with the university and seeing different phases of its growth, in terms of faculty and staff size has been quite the learning curve. I’ve made friends and built relationships, that will last for a life time.”
